Juraj Martiška

Juraj Martiška was born in 1969 in Ružomberok, Slovakia. After completing his studies at the High School of Art Industry in Kremnica, he studied painting (prof. Ľ. Hološka and prof. J. Berger at the) Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. His versatile works include illustrations and comics for children’s books and colorful oil paintings. The titles he has illustrated in watercolor include a Slovak version of Carlo Collodi’s “Pinocchio” and a recent edition of H. Ch. Andersen’s “Fairy Tales” both published by Petit Press in 2008.
