Nana Furiya

Nana Furiya

Nana Furiya was born in 1961 inTokyo, Japan. She studied printmaking with Professor Dušan Kállay at the Academy of Fine Art and Design in Bratislava. From 1992 she resides in Slovakia. Her activities range from picture book illustration to painting and printmaking. She has illustrated more than sixty picture books and for some, has also written the texts. Her works are published in Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, and in the U.S.A.

She has won the Graphic Association Prize at the Triennale Exlibris of Bratislava in 1996, the Golden Pen at the International Biennial of Belgrade and the Gozan Encouragement for Illustration Prize in 2006.
