Yukari Miyazawa

Yukari Miyazawa was born in 1978 in Gunma, Japan. She studied illustration at the Japan Juvenile Education College in Tokyo. Her career as an illustrator started when she was selected for the 2003 edition of the Illustrators Exhibition (Bologna Children's Book Fair). In 2005 she was selected for the 2005 edition of Ilustrarte in Portugal and for the ’The Fabulous Coloured Pencil in the World’ sponsored by Associazione Culturale Teatro in Rome in 2006-2007. In 2008 she was selected for the first edition of the CJ Picture Book Festival Exhibition in Korea. Her first picture book “100 bébés” and its kamishibai version was published by Lirabelle in France. She has also illustrated Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple series published bt Chobun-sha. Her works are mainly done with pencil, but she is also known as a pop-up book artist.
