Júlia Piačková

Júlia Piačková was born in 1961 in Hlohovec, Slovakia. She studied textile art at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Bratislava, (prof. E. Antalová ) and then worked as a textile designer in the Department of Monumental Art for Architecture. From 1992 to 2006 she taught at the Department of Ceramics of the Apprenticeship School in Pezinok and since 2005 she has headed courses on Drawing, Painting and Arts and Craft at the Basic Art School in Pezinok. Her activities range from painting, drawing, graphic art, illustration, exlibris and postal stamp design to ceramics and satirical drawing. Until now she has realised twenty-five individual exhibitions and has participated in many collective exhibitions. She has won prizes for Fine Arts in her country and abroad.
