Manami Yamada

Manami Yamada, after working as a graphic designer, began her career as an illustrator with “Temtem to namae no nai usagi” (Temtem and the No-name Rabbit) published by BL Shuppan in 1996. Her first picture book, “Umi wa donna aji?” (What does Sea Water Taste Like?) was published by Random House Korea in 1997. In 2005 she participated in the Summer Atlier held by Vicente Ferrer at the Itabashi Art Museum in Tokyo.

Marek Ormandík

Marek Ormandík: painter, sculptor, printmaker, book illustrator and graphic designer, was born in 1968 in Bratislava, Slovakia. At the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava he studied with Professors Lebiš, Rumanský, and Kállay. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in important galleries such as the Danubiana (Čunovo, Slovakia) in 2006, the Town Gallery of Tula in Russia with Milan Ormandík in 2007, the Koloman Sokol Centre (Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia), the Orava Gallery (Dolný Kubín, Slovakia) with Dávid Čársky in 2008, the Kosovel House (Sežan, Slovenia), the House of Art, (Bratislava), the Art Club of Slovakia (Bratislava) in 2010, and in 2011 at the Atelier Vote in Vienna.

Martina Matlovičová

Martina Matlovičová was born in 1975 in Bratislava, Slovakia. She finished her studies in 1999 at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava where she specialized in Film Animation. She currently lives and works in the village of Doľany where she creates paintings on wood combined with the use of textile and collage. She illustrates children’s books and designs sets for the theater. She is also active as a graphic designer.

Mayuko Takine, pianist, was born in 1978 in Ehime, Japan. She studied at the Bratislava Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts-VSMU (prof. T. Franová) and then in Vienna at the Vienna Music Academy with Prof. D. Adam (scholarship from E. Charlie). She has been awarded the Grand Prix at the Shikoku Piano Competition, First Prize at the Bratislava Academy Piano Competition and First Prize at the Vienna Bosendorfer Piano Competition, etc. She has played the Piano Concerto (Ravel:G-dur) with the Kosice Philharmonic Orchestra and has been a jury member for the International Piano Competition in Kosice.

Michi Imaki

Michi Imaki was born in 1944 in Kobe, Japan. She studied Commercial Design at Musashino Art University. She started her career as a picture book artist in 1973 with her book “Asobōyo no ehon” (The Let’s Play Picture Book) published by Fukuinkan Shoten. Her picture books, in which she also uses embroidery, are mainly for pre-school children.
