Shinji Takine

Shinji Takine was born in 1980 in Nagoya, Japan. After studying printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, he obtained an MA in Art Education at the Aichi University of Education. His recent personal exhibitions were held in Rožňava, Slovakia, at the Galéria Baníckeho Múzea (2010) and at the Exhibition Room of the National Council of Slovak Republic, Western Terrace , Bratislava Castle (2011) with the title: “Jūryoky no niji” (Rainbow Gravity).

I was born in 1981 in Japan. I live in Osaka of Japan.
I am living with the wife and the son. I liked drawing the picture of a fancy when I was young. I began to learn fine arts from the time of a high school. I was majoring in the copperplate engraving at the university. I am selected Illustrators for the Illustrators Exhibition in Bologna children's book fair 2007.

Tom Schoonooghe

Tom Schoonoogh was born in 1973 in Antwerpen, Belgium. He studied applied arts and illustration in Antwerp. He likes to create bright colours, heavy non-transparent colors and moving figures. After winning a competition for illustrators organized by the Flemish government and the Editors Association in 1997, he began his career as illustrator.

Toshiya Kobayashi

Toshiya Kobayashi was born in 1947 in Shizuoka, Japan. He graduated from the Crafts Department at the Tokyo University of the Arts. He is a graphic designer turned illustrator. He designs books and illustrates books and magazines. In 1979 he became fascinated with the works of the poet Kenji Miyazawa and published his first picture book based on a tale written by Miyazawa entitled “Gahon Miyazawa Kenji: Donguri to yamaneko” (The Acorns and the Wildcat). From 1983 he would publish a picture book based on a story written by Miyazawa each year.

Valeria Valenza

Valeria Valenza was born in Cagliari on the Italian island of Sardegna in 1977. After finishing her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Sassari, she studied illustration with Mauro Evangelisti in Macerata in 2003. In 2005, she continued her studies with Octavia Monaco. In 2005 she was winner of ‘La scarpetta di Cenerentol’ Competion on book illustration at Port San Giorgio. In the same year she was selected for the Illustrators Exhibition (Bologna Children’s Book Fair) where she obtained a special mention from one of the members of the jury, Kiyoko Matsuoka. In 2006 she realized illustrations for the book “The Magic Flute” published in Cagliari. In the same year she is back in Macerata to teach at the summer school of illustration. In 2009 and in 2010, she is among the selected artists again at the Illustrators Exhibition.
